Fruit and Vegetables
Seasonal produce is largely grown by ourselves and includes: salads, cabbages, cauliflowers, calabrese, sprouting broccoli, brussel sprouts, sweetcorn, peas, leeks and a variety of beans.
Local farms and orchards provide us with potatoes, root vegetables and soft fruits.
For updates on the produce we are currently selling please see our latest news page.
Our resourceful staff are always on the lookout for ways of putting surplus produce to good use. We therefore supply our own jams, marmalades, chutneys, pickles and, most recently, a delicious selection of homemade cakes.
After many requests from the local community we now stock a variety of groceries, including dairy products, bread, tinned foods, sweets, crisps, biscuits, condiments and a selection of drinks. We have a small range of household items, such as kitchen towels and cleaning fluids and also provide newspapers and stamps.
Where it is not possible for us to produce our own goods we trade with other local suppliers to ensure that what we sell remains fresh and, in most cases, locally grown.
Some of our suppliers include:
- High House Fruit Farm, Sudbourne – Apples and Apple Juice
- Marybelle Dairy, Halesworth – Milk and other dairy products
- Hart Eggs, Baylham – Free Range and Farm Fresh eggs
- The Bread Basket, Walton – Bread
- Suffolk News – Newspapers
Pet foods are a big part of our business. We stock a variety of bird seed and domestic pet foods, as well as supplying straw, hay and sawdust. What we do not hold in large quantities we are always willing to order on request.
